Daimler Benz hat 1955 bis 1958 diesen Typ nur ca. 400 Mal als CKD-Fahrzeug gebaut, d.h. es wurde in Süd-Afrika bei einem Karrosseriebauer fertiggestellt. Dies betrifft das Heck mit Ladefläche. Durch diese Vorgehensweise fielen in Süd-Afrika kein Importzoll an.

Der Wagen ist voll-restauriert und absolut rostfrei. Er befindet sich im Quasi-Neuzustand,
Achsen überholt mit neuen Federn, Stoßdämpfern, Buchsen und Gummis.
Motor überholt: Zylinder gehont, neue Kolben 76,5 mm, Austauschkurbelwelle ungeschliffen mit Original-Maß, neue Lager, Austauschzylinderkopf mit neuen Ventilen, überholte Einspritzpumpe mit Bosch-Prüfzertifikat, neue Einspritzventile, neue Glühkerzen, Umbau auf Drehstromlichtmaschine, neue Kupplung.

Es gibt weltweit noch höchstens 3 Bakkies, aber keiner davon in diesem Zustand.

Daimler Benz produced between 1955 and 1958 approximately only 400 pickups of this type as „CKD“-vehicles i.e. they were completed by a coach builder in South-Africa. This applies to the rear end including the loading bay. By this procedure the South African import duties could be avoided.

The car is completely restored and absolutely rust-free. It is in a „like new“ condition.
All suspension parts have been overhauled, with new springs, shocks, bushings and rubbers.
Engine overhauled: Cylinders honed, new pistons 76.5 mm, crankshaft replaced (original bearing diameters, not reground), new bearing shells, reman cylinder head with new valves, overhauled injection pump with Bosch test certificate, new Bosch injectors, new fast glow plugs,
conversion to Alternator, new clutch.

There are maximum only 3 cars of this type world wide in existence, none of them however in this condition
